Russian drone hits minibus in Sumy region: driver injured, vehicle destroyed

In Sumy region, on the morning of March 24, a Russian drone attacked a minibus. The vehicle was heading towards the Pischanskyі district of the Sumy community. The head of the regional military administration Oleg Grigorov reported the incident.

“The Russians deliberately chose it as a target,” the head of the regional military administration noted.

A 65-year-old driver was injured as a result of the impact. He was examined by doctors – there is no threat to his life. According to the prosecutor’s office, during the attack the man managed to jump out of the vehicle, injured his finger and was released home after examination. At the time of the impact, there were no passengers in the cabin. The minibus “Sumy – Nyzhne Pishchane” was critically damaged and cannot be restored.

According to the investigation, at about 19:00, the Russians hit a car with civilians with a drone. Two passengers were injured – a 45-year-old man and his 13-year-old son. They were hospitalized and are receiving necessary assistance.

Currently, law enforcement officers are recording the consequences of the shelling. A pre-trial investigation has been opened into the fact of committing a war crime (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), it is being conducted by investigators of the Sumy regional police under the procedural guidance of the Sumy city prosecutor’s office.
