Russian drone strikes residential high-rise in Kyiv; casualties reported

On the evening of October 7, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with strike drones. One of them hit a residential high-rise, resulting in deaths and injuries, the State Emergency Service press office reported.

The drone struck the high-rise in the Desnianskyi district around 10:20 PM, according to Kyiv Chairman Vitaliy Klitschko. The drone crashed into the 12-story building at the 10th-floor level.

According to the State Emergency Service, the attack sparked a fire that spread to the upper floors. Additionally, the impact caused partial structural damage.

“Firefighters discovered the bodies of two deceased individuals in one of the damaged apartments,” the State Emergency Service press office stated.

Four other people were injured, including two children. Another 22 people were rescued from the building, including eight children.
