Russian forces strike settlement in Kherson region; one woman killed, others injured

Throughout the day on September 30, Russian forces attacked Novovorontsovka in the Kherson region, killing a 77-year-old woman and injuring three other people.

At approximately 2:35 PM, a 77-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries as a result of Russian shelling. A 56-year-old man walking along the street was also injured; he was taken to the hospital with blast-related injuries and a hand fracture.

In total, three people were injured by Russian strikes on the settlement throughout the day and are currently under medical supervision.

Around 11:00 AM, Russian forces shelled Novovorontsovka with artillery. An 88-year-old woman inside a house was injured in the strike, suffering a concussion, blast-related injuries, and a closed traumatic brain injury. An ambulance crew transported her to the hospital in moderate condition.

“As of 5:30 PM, one person has been killed and five other civilians injured as a result of Russian shelling,” the statement reads.

The Prosecutor’s Office notes that Russian troops shelled Novovorontsovka with artillery twice.

In Kherson, two people were injured after explosives were dropped from drones.

Private homes were damaged by the shelling.
