Russian military seizes humanitarian aid from residents under occupation

In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, Russian military personnel seize humanitarian cargo intended for the local population and use it to meet their own needs.

Food, water and other essential items that should be provided free of charge to residents under occupation are being controlled by the Russian military. As a result, civilians for whom this aid was intended may not receive what they need.

For the occupying forces, this is another way to use the resources of the civilian population for their own interests. People who already live in conditions of shortage of food, fuel and basic services are left with fewer and fewer opportunities to receive aid.

“Russia continues to demonstrate its “care” for the population of the temporarily occupied territories, while simultaneously seizing aid that others are collecting for these people. Humanitarian cargo, instead of supporting civilians, is becoming another resource for the Russian army.
