During the week of May 18-24, foresters of the state enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” extinguished 14 forest fires with a total area of 28.6 hectares, which arose due to Russian shelling.
The largest number of such fires was recorded in the Kharkiv region. In the front-line Izyum forestry department, foresters together with the State Emergency Service extinguished two large fires with an area of over 22 hectares.
The state enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” noted that extinguishing was complicated by the presence of explosive objects.
Seven fires caused by Russian drones were also extinguished in the Chernihiv region.
