Russian ship with Ukrainian wheat from occupied territories accepted in Israel

Over 43 thousand tons of Ukrainian grain from temporarily occupied territories was exported by Russia on the dry cargo ship ABINSK (IMO: 9303869). On April 12, it was accepted in the port of Israel.

The Russian dry cargo ship with stolen Ukrainian wheat had been idle since March 23. On April 12, Russia received approval from Israel to accept the bulk carrier in the port of Haifa.

ABINSK (IMO: 9303869) was accepted in Haifa (Israel) with a cargo of wheat of 43765.18 tons from the occupied territories of Ukraine. The ship loaded at the anchorage of the port “Kavkaz”, the cargo was delivered from the occupied Ukrainian ports. ABINSK had been waiting for permission from Israel since March 23, and on April 12, 2026, it received it.

During 2025, Russia stole about two million tons of Ukrainian grain. The Russian Federation sold it in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. About 40% was transported and sold in Egypt. According to the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Andriy Sybiga, the sale of grain is one of the ways Russia finances the war against Ukraine.
