Russian strike on Odesa region: poultry farm ablaze, poultry killed

On September 15, a fire broke out at a poultry farm in the Odesa region following another Russian strike; the flames engulfed the roof, which was equipped with solar panels. Thanks to the swift actions of firefighters, the majority of the poultry was saved, and the building was prevented from being completely destroyed.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Russian strike hit the site of a civilian poultry farm in the Odesa region. The impact ignited the building’s roof—fitted with solar panels—causing the fire to spread rapidly.

Rescuers arriving at the scene promptly extinguished the fire and prevented the flames from spreading to the entire complex. Thanks to the firefighters’ professional efforts, the poultry farm building was saved from total destruction.

The State Emergency Service reported that firefighters made every effort to save the facility while battling the blaze. A significant number of birds were rescued, though, unfortunately, some perished as a result of the Russian attack and the fire.

Specialists are currently assessing the extent of the damage and addressing the aftermath of the Russian shelling.
