As of 11:00 a.m. on June 18, Russian troops fired mortars and artillery at seven border settlements in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, making a total of 63 strikes.

The invaders attacked the Chernihiv region twice. In particular, from 11:40 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., 26 hits were recorded in the Bleshny area, probably from 82 mm mortars.
From 06:30 to 06:40, three shots were fired in the Karpovichi area, probably from the same weapon.
As of 9:00 p.m. on June 17, Russian troops fired another round of fire at the border areas of the Chernihiv region.

The Russians shelled three villages in Chernihiv region
From 10:35 a.m. to 10:50 a.m., 4 shots, probably from a 120 mm mortar, were recorded in the area of the settlement of Galaganivka.
From 11:00 a.m. to 11:10 a.m., 2 shots, probably from a 120-mm mortar, were recorded in the vicinity of Karpovychi settlement.
From 14:55 to 15:20, 10 rounds, probably from a 120 mm mortar, were recorded in the area of the village of Arkhipivka.
The Russian army shelled the Sumy region five times
From 01:25 to 01:35, three hits, probably from a 120-mm mortar, were recorded in the Rozhkovychy district, and from 04:40 to 04:45 – three hits in the Tovstodubovo district.
From 04:25 to 04:35, the Russians launched 10 strikes, presumably from 82 mm mortars, in the Bachivska area, and from 06:10 to 06:25, 12 strikes were recorded in the Seredyna-Buda area.
From 06:35 to 06:45 there were six hits, probably from barrel artillery, in the Porokhonya area. No information was received about losses among the local population or damage to civil infrastructure.
In total, on June 17, the Russians carried out 21 shelling of communities on the border of the Sumy region.
The Russians damaged a TV tower in one of the communities of the Sumy region
On Saturday, June 17, Russian troops shelled the border of the Sumy region and damaged the television tower in the Bilopol community. This was reported by the press service of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
“There were mortar fire (17 explosions) and artillery fire (7 explosions) in the Bilopil community. The television tower was damaged as a result of the shelling,” the message reads.
In total, during the day, the Russians carried out 21 shelling of the border communities, namely: Khotynska, Krasnopilska, Bilopolska, Myropilska, Shalyginska, Druzhbivska, Esmanska, Seredino-Budska, Znob-Novgorodska and Velikopysarivska communities. 119 explosions were recorded.
According to the Reporters Without Borders organization, in just one year of full-scale war, the Russian military fired at Ukrainian television towers 16 times. Almost half of the attacks on television towers were recorded in the first days of the war, at the beginning of March 2022, throughout the territory of Ukraine.
