How the Russians are destroying Kupyansk
Kupyansk is subjected to up to 100 shellings per day, the residents refuse to evacuate despite the almost destroyed infrastructure, but the Armed Forces are confident that the city will be held, and experts call the Russian offensive an imitation.
On July 17, the command of the Armed Forces said that the Russians had accumulated 100,000 troops, 900 tanks, 370 anti-aircraft guns and 555 artillery systems. The commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, is working on the situation. It is known that the Russian army includes not only the regular army, but also prisoners from the “Storm Z”, various private military companies and reserves.
For Russians, the Kupyan direction is considered one of the most difficult. In social networks, they complain that the Ukrainians prepared well, mined the territory, and set up several lines of defense. Instead, they are “driven” to advance every day – as a result, very large losses. And the equipment that the Russians brought in this direction is old and faulty. As a result, there are no results, and the losses are large.
On August 29, Russian troops struck with drones the museum and the Starostat in the village of Guryev Kozachok of the Zolochiv community. This was announced by the head of the Zolochiv settlement military administration, Viktor Kovalenko.
The village of Guriev Kozachok is located in the north of the Kharkiv region, two kilometers from the border with the Russian Federation. Before the war, more than 300 people lived here. Now there are about a hundred people in the village.
The blow was delivered at 11.45. The administrative building was damaged: the roof was heavily damaged, windows and doors were blown out. This is the building of the former school, which houses the starostat, the post office, and the museum.
Viktor Kovalenko stated that all institutions located in the building continue their work.
During August 26-28, the Russian army shelled several settlements of the community.
But despite the frequent shelling, people do not want to evacuate: they say that they are used to war, and during shelling they hide in cellars and basements.
Currently, 22,000 people live in the Zolochiv community. This is 80% of the pre-war population (there were 27 thousand).
There are almost no residents left in settlements bordering the Russian Federation. There are no people in Krasnaya Zora and Okop. 27 people live in the village of Perovsky, located 200 meters from the border. 8 residents remained in Odnorobivka, 10 in Basovo (before the war there were 110). Recently, a woman was killed and a 16-year-old girl was wounded in Odnorobivka.
