This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin.
According to Andrii Kostin, the larger of these objects are ordinary residential buildings.
“The Russians destroyed or damaged more than 18,000 objects of civil infrastructure, including more than 17,500 residential buildings and structures, 215 educational and educational institutions, 23 medical institutions, six cultural buildings, 9 religious buildings, 169 networks that ensure the vital activities of the population These are gas pipelines, water pipelines and power grids,” Kostin said.
The Prosecutor General added that crimes involving the deliberate destruction of civilian objects are being investigated as elements of mass genocide against the Ukrainian people.
He also noted that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, more than 154,000 civil infrastructure objects have been destroyed or damaged throughout Ukraine.
Director of the Kyiv Research Institute, Oleksandr Ruvin, previously said that the amount of damage caused by the occupiers in the Kyiv region exceeds 100 billion hryvnias.
“Regarding the amount of damages, for example, if we talk only about immovable property and according to a very preliminary estimate, it is more than 15 billion UAH in Bucha, and more than 60 billion in Irpin. General calculations for the Kyiv region indicate that the damage to immovable property exceeds UAH 100 billion.
And you and I did not count substations, CHPs, hydroelectric power plants and factories that were damaged, warehouses… In Novy Petrivtsy, they bombed the largest bread factory in the Kyiv region – they bombed it completely. Tanks arrived and simply demolished it,” Ruvin said.
According to Ruvin, the specialists of the Institute left for the territory of the Kyiv region on April 1, 2022, that is, even before the official announcement of the complete de-occupation of the region. They immediately began the work of fixing and assessing the damage. In general, with the participation of the Institute’s experts, more than two hundred settlements that were under occupation and were destroyed as a result of military operations were examined.
“We came to Irpin and Bucha, when the equipment was still there. And we went around every house there, checked and described every house, and then many owners were given ready-made examinations so that they could apply to the International Criminal Court. Such appeals from people, apparently , there were more than a hundred,” recalled the director of the Kyiv Research Institute.
