Russian troops strike Kherson city center — one dead

The Russians are attacking Kherson daily, trying to damage the most important infrastructure.

Kherson is constantly under fire from the Russians. On the morning of January 7, Russian troops again struck the city center of the regional center. This was reported by the head of the city military administration, Alexander Prokudin.

“Since the very morning, Russian troops have been covering the city center of Kherson with fire. As a result of this Russian shelling, a man was mortally wounded. My condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” the head of the city military administration wrote.

Later, law enforcement officers identified the deceased man — he turned out to be a 68-year-old local resident, who received multiple shrapnel wounds and died on the spot.

The blast wave broke windows in nearby buildings and damaged facades.

At the end of 2025, the Russian army launched artillery strikes on the Kherson thermal power plant. The CHP suffered significant damage. Specialists are eliminating the consequences of the strike. One of the workers was injured and taken to a medical facility.
