Russian UAVs Attack Bus with Passengers Twice in Kherson Region

On August 9, Russian troops struck a civilian bus in the suburbs of Kherson. Two people were killed. Another 16 were injured and hospitalized, two of them in serious condition. When police arrived at the scene of the attack, Russian troops attacked the bus again. Three law enforcement officers were injured. After the attack inside the bus, there was broken glass, blood, and scattered belongings of the dead and wounded. On the morning of August 9, it was heading from Kherson on a route with 28 passengers. As a result of the attack, 16 of them were injured, two more died on the spot. The driver managed to leave the scene on his own in the damaged bus with the bodies of the dead in the cabin.

According to Viktor, the bus driver, drones attacked the bus twice. The first blow, the main one, took the lives of two people, and injured 16: “The drone hit from above. Some time before that, it was flying behind the bus. It must have been thinking whether to hit it or not. It hit once, then a second time. The passengers immediately jumped out of the bus and fell to the ground. There was no panic. People were just shouting: “Open the door.” I opened the door. Everyone who could ran. Three of them fell under the bus. I came back alive, but without people on the bus. It’s a pity for the people — the grandmothers, grandfathers, everyone — well over 60. People were traveling on business.”

The Russians attacked the vehicle again with an FPV drone.

According to the National Police of Ukraine, this happened during the police officers’ attempt to remove the bodies of the deceased from the passenger compartment.

As a result of the FPV drone strike, three police officers received concussions,” the department reported.

The Office of the President of Ukraine reacted to another murder by the Russians. “This is how Russia “wants peace”. An attack on an ordinary bus in the suburbs of Kherson, where the Russians organize a hunt for civilians every day. People died. Why? The Russians are deceiving everyone around, pretending that they are ready to stop the war, but are doing nothing to achieve this goal,” said the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.
