Russians are blackmailing relatives of Ukrainian prisoners of war

The Russians intensified their attempts to influence the relatives of prisoners of war and during personal communication provoke destructive actions and crimes.

This is reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

It is noted that unknown persons call representatives of families and try to force them to cooperate, in particular, to transfer intelligence information or disable civil infrastructure, terrorist activities.

For “cooperation”, the Russians offer various concessions to the prisoners held or, on the contrary, act with threats.

The coordination headquarters warns families against cooperation with the Russian.

“Do not keep silent and do not hide the facts of such contacts. Specialists of the coordination headquarters will help you get out of such difficult situations with dignity, secure your loved ones in captivity and advise you on how to act in such situations. However, failure to inform about such facts or activities for the benefit of the Russians can have severe and irreparable consequences,” the agency noted.

As noted in the coordination headquarters, the Russians take advantage of the vulnerable position of families. The task of the headquarters is to prevent this from happening and not to worsen the situation of Ukrainian citizens deprived of their liberty.
