The Lviv region prosecutor’s office reported that during a massive attack on the night of August 21, three Kh-101 missiles with cluster munitions were among the targets fired at Lviv. The prosecutor’s office specified that missiles of this type had previously been recorded in the region, but they were used in Lviv for the first time. All three missiles were shot down by air defense.
In addition to the missiles, Lviv was attacked by drones, and hits were recorded in the city. As a result of the attack, an administrative building was damaged, where five people were taking shelter at the time of the strike. They were not injured.
“The blast wave also damaged nearby houses, breaking windows and doors. In addition, fragments of the downed missiles damaged private and business premises,” the prosecutor’s office noted.
Law enforcement officers have initiated criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes combined with premeditated murder).
Earlier, in the Lviv region, fragments of the X-101 with cluster munitions were discovered in Drohobych after the attack on June 30, 2025. They looked like round grayish objects. The Drohobych City Council reported that their radius of destruction was up to 30 meters, so residents were categorically forbidden to approach them in order to avoid injuries and mortal danger.
