Russian forces have once again attacked a mobile Ukrposhta branch responsible for delivering essential items to the public. This time, a company vehicle in the Sumy region was targeted.
According to Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilianskyi, a Russian drone struck the mobile branch the day before. The attack left company employees with severe injuries. “The Russians continue to hunt our mobile Ukrposhta branches, which deliver pensions, medicines, parcels, and groceries to Ukrainians. Yesterday, another such drone attack took place in the Sumy region,” Smilianskyi reported.
Doctors fought for the employees’ lives all night
Following the attack, the injured were taken to hospitals. Medical teams in Sumy and Trostianets worked through the night to stabilize their condition. The employees sustained serious injuries; however, doctors currently offer a cautiously optimistic prognosis regarding their recovery.
Ukrposhta continues operations
Mobile Ukrposhta branches operate in areas where there are no stationary branches or where operations are hindered by hostilities. They deliver pensions, medicines, parcels, groceries, and other essentials to the population. Due to their proximity to combat zones, these vehicles can become targets for Russian attacks. Smilianskyi stated that the company continues to enhance safety measures for its employees.
Despite the attack, Ukrposhta is not halting operations and continues to deliver essential services and goods to Ukrainians. Medical attention is currently focused on the injured employees; the company hopes for their speedy recovery.
