On June 8, the Russians attacked Zaporizhzhia with a suicide drone Shahed. The strike occurred in a residential area, causing significant destruction and casualties. Zaporizhzhia is regularly shelled, as the occupiers try to hit residential areas, bus stops and infrastructure facilities.
As noted by the Ombudsman of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets, such attacks have become “a regularity, not an accident”.
The State Emergency Service confirmed the death of two women and the injured, who require medical attention.
This tragedy is yet another confirmation of the worsening situation in eastern Ukraine, where the civilian population continues to suffer from military operations. Regular shelling of Ukrainian cities endangers the lives of civilians, including children, and causes serious humanitarian problems. The authorities and emergency services are trying to respond to these challenges, but the scale of the attacks creates significant difficulties in their activities.
This tragic event occurred against the background of growing tension in the region, where even children are injured. For example, a 10-year-old boy and his father were recently injured as a result of a night attack on Zaporizhzhia. This once again confirms that the threat to the lives of civilians remains relevant.
