The police of Sumy Region are collecting evidence of war crimes committed by the Russian Federation.
As reported by the police of Sumy Region, on August 6, the Russians continued to terrorize the civilian population, causing destruction to civilian infrastructure. The Russians carried out 65 shellings of the territory of the Sumy region, 33 settlements came under fire. A total of 185 enemy shellings were recorded.
As a result of these shellings, 6 private residential buildings, an economic building, a preschool education institution and 2 cars were damaged.
Based on this fact, Sumy region police investigators opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Violation of laws and customs of war”. Investigative actions aimed at gathering evidence of war crimes committed by Russian occupiers on the territory of Sumy region are ongoing.
The police of the Sumy Region urges all citizens who have witnessed war crimes or have information about such crimes to immediately report it to the law enforcement authorities.
