Russians detain 47-year-old Melitopol resident and accused of espionage

A 47-year-old resident of the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, was detained by the Russian FSB. The woman is charged with Article 276 “Espionage” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

This was reported by the Russian Prosecutor’s Office of the Zaporizhzhia region.

Russian so-called law enforcement officers stated that from May to August 2023, the woman allegedly transmitted intelligence data about the locations of personnel, military equipment, and weapons of the Russian military in Melitopol and the Pryazovskyі District via a chatbot.

The Russians stated that the Ukrainian woman, who is being held by the Russians, allegedly admitted her guilt. The case will soon be transferred to a Russian court.
