Russians hit educational institution in Kharkiv with Molniya drone

On the evening of September 3, the Russians attacked Kharkiv. A Molniya drone was flying over the city.

This was reported by the chairman of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov: “We have information about a strike by a Russian Molniya UAV on the Nemyshlyanskyі district of the city.”

According to him, the consequences of the Russian attack are being clarified.

Later, the chairman clarified that the attack took place on the territory of an educational institution in the Saltivskyі district. As of now, there are no casualties. Information about possible damage is being clarified.

The Russian Molniya drone is an affordable FPV drone of the aircraft type, which is made of cheap materials: plywood, cardboard, foam plastic, sometimes with aluminum tubes.

Such devices are equipped with electric motors, and their assembly can be carried out literally in the field: several people can carry them in disassembled form, and installation at the position takes only a few hours.

The cost of one “Lightning” is estimated at around 300-800 US dollars, while its flight range reaches 30-40 km, and the maximum speed is about 70-90 km/h. The payload is up to 3-7 kg of explosives, often these are TM-62 anti-tank mines.

The Russians regularly use such drones to strike Kharkiv. In particular, on August 1, an attack injured ten people, including children.
