As a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, more than 1,200 objects of cultural infrastructure were damaged in Ukraine, including more than 500 cultural monuments.
Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy, told about it.
“First of all, we are talking about the preservation of those cultural institutions that were damaged. These are more than 1,200 objects of cultural infrastructure, including more than 500 cultural monuments. It is important for us to preserve them this winter,” the minister said.
At the same time, Tkachenko said that the issue of restoration of damaged or destroyed objects of cultural infrastructure is being discussed with Western partners.
“When we talk to our colleagues in the West about supporting recovery, they have a question as to how appropriate it is during the war. We say that it is appropriate,” the government official emphasized.
He regretted that budget funds could not be used for reconstruction at the moment. However, Tkachenko assured that funds for such purposes come from Western partners and donors, including Ukrainian ones.
Russian occupiers destroyed at least 553 objects of Ukrainian cultural heritage.
This was informed by Marek Lemiesz from the National Heritage Office of Poland with reference to the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
“Among them, 234 have already been verified by UNESCO. This is probably only the tip of the iceberg. In Chernihiv, where we work, solely thanks to the work of my Ukrainian friends who collected data on the destruction, there were 38 objects that were officially on the list of destroyed, now we doubled the list in this list. Let me remind you that Russian military formations were stationed in Chernihiv for less than 5 weeks,” he said.
Marek Lemesh emphasized that despite keeping records of losses, it is impossible to fully assess the extent of the damage that the Russian military inflicts on Ukraine, as Russia carries out air and artillery strikes.
“Actually, the conflict in Ukraine, if we talk about cultural heritage, cannot be compared with anything, with any armed conflict after 1945,” said Marek Lemiesz.
The destruction of monuments and cultural objects is accompanied by the looting of museum collections and the destruction of Ukrainian books.
Russia destroyed almost 200 medical facilities in Ukraine, about 1,000 were damaged, and almost 200 more facilities were completely destroyed and cannot be restored.
This was said by the Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko. “If we talk about the damaged objects of health care institutions, that is, the hospital has several buildings, then the figure is more than 1000. Almost 200 objects have been completely destroyed, they cannot be restored, and will require construction from scratch if necessary. for new projects and new technologies. At the same time, 200 health care institutions that were damaged, where there was minor damage, have been restored,” Lyashko said.
Yes, he added that today in Kyiv they completed the restoration of the hospital that was damaged by Russian shelling in October last year.
“We are working in this direction and the government allocates subventions to the regions to restore and start health care facilities. A new project was launched – a trust fund through a World Bank loan, which provides for a start with 110 million US dollars for new projects of construction, reconstruction and restoration of what was destroyed in the regions that were de-occupied. Now we are completing the final stage with the Ministry of Finance and we will give these funds to the health care facilities that suffered in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions, so that they can start the process of returning to their usual work rhythm,” Lyashko said.
Almost half of Ukraine’s energy system has been disabled due to Russian shelling.
According to the Chairman of the Board of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the situation in the Ukrainian energy system is serious, but it remains manageable, and energy companies are doing everything possible to restore energy supply.
Since October 10, Russian troops have been carrying out massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Invaders aim missiles and Iranian drones both at generation facilities and at the electricity transmission system.
The Russian occupiers took all the equipment from the Central Hospital of the city of Skadovsk, Kherson Region.
It is specified that the equipment of the hospital was taken away by four Russian military trucks. Against the background of the transition of civilian hospitals in the occupied territories to military hospitals, the humanitarian crisis among the civilian population will continue to worsen.
The Russians are doing everything to encourage people to “evacuate” to the territory of the Russian Federation as much as possible.
According to the Special Operations Forces, the “evacuation”, and in fact the deportation, is taking place in the regions of the Russian Federation, which have been actively populated by the peoples of the Caucasus for the last decades.
Ukrainian defenders call on people to leave the territory under the control of the Ukrainian government.
Almost from the first weeks of the full-scale invasion, a difficult situation with medicine has been observed in Melitopol, captured by the troops of the Russian Federation.
Due to pressure from the Rashists, most of the qualified specialists were forced to go to the territory under the control of Ukraine, it is almost impossible to call an “ambulance”. Medicines are also bad. A number of drugs are in short supply, and others are four times more expensive than in Ukraine. In addition, local residents complain about the quality of medicines.
The other day, the prices of some medical preparations in one of the pharmacies on the Kirovsky market appeared online. The price tags set by the Rashists traditionally shock the townspeople.
Yes, Melitopol residents can buy Normomed syrup for 1,740 rubles, which is equivalent to 1,392 hryvnias at the exchange rate set by the Russian invaders. In the territory controlled by Ukraine, these medicines cost many times cheaper, namely 256 hryvnias. The price of Ginkoum is 806 rubles or 645 hryvnias, while it can be bought in Ukrainian pharmacies for 330 hryvnias. You will have to pay 515 rubles or 412 hryvnias for Endokrinol in Melitopol. In other cities, it is sold for 108 hryvnias.
Rashists also make a large markup on drugs that are not sold in Ukraine. So, Detrimax drops are offered for 652 rubles at the pharmacy on the Kirovsky market, and for 507 rubles on the Russian website. Arbidol syrup is sold in Melitopol for 470 rubles, and on the Internet for 290 rubles.
