On April 14, the Russians carried out a massive shelling of Kupyansk and the village of Shevchenkove in the Kharkiv region. At least four civilians were killed as a result of the attacks. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov: “Kupyansk. A 68-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman died as a result of artillery shelling.
Shevchenkove. A 77-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man received injuries incompatible with life as a result of shelling with MLRS.”
Kupyansk once again found itself under heavy fire. According to preliminary investigation data, at around 9:00 a.m. on April 14, Russian troops struck a residential sector of the city with artillery.
Two residents were killed — a 68-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman. Another local resident, 72 years old, suffered a severe stress reaction, the prosecutor’s office reports.
The shelling of Kupyansk is not the only crime of the day. At about 12:50, the Russians also attacked the village of Shevchenkove in the Kupyansk district.
According to law enforcement officers, the Russians struck a residential area. Several houses and utility rooms were damaged.
A 52-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman died as a result of the attack. A 38-year-old resident suffered an acute shock reaction. It has been previously established that the shelling was carried out with a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) “Smerch”.
Under the procedural leadership of the Kupyansk district prosecutor’s office of the Kharkiv region, a pre-trial investigation has been launched under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of the laws and customs of war, which caused the death of people.
“Prosecutors and police investigators are taking all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by the Russian military,” the prosecutor’s office reported.
