
Russians shot five people: Dnipro doctors saved 57-year-old woman with bullet wound.
On October 20, in the village of Zvanivka, Donetsk region, Russian soldiers shot five Ukrainian civilians – two families who were hiding in the basements of houses. Miraculously, only a 57-year-old woman who received a bullet wound in the head survived. She was operated on in Dnipro.
As it became known, a woman with her husband and two sons were hiding in the basement. When the younger, 24-year-old son of the woman went to get water from neighbors, Russian soldiers burst into the shelter. They interrogated the family about the whereabouts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the settlement. Without receiving information, the Russians left, but later one of them returned and shot the civilians. This was reported by the Informant with reference to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The woman received a bullet wound in the head. When she came to, she found her husband and eldest son dead. Worried about her second son, she went to a neighboring basement, where she found his body next to the executed neighbors: a 62-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man.
Despite the wounds, the woman independently reached the territory controlled by Ukraine.
On October 22, the woman was taken to the city of Dnipro. According to the head physician of the Dnipro Regional Clinical Hospital named after Mechnikov Serhiy Ryzhenko, doctors have already performed an operation on the victim. The bullet wound was “closed” and plastic surgery was performed.
Law enforcement officers documented the crime of the Russian military against the civilian population. The woman’s testimony was recorded. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the mass murder under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war). The Russian military personnel involved in the war crime are being identified.
