Russians strike again on energy sector: Donetsk region’s coal enterprises under attack

Russian troops carried out five airstrikes with guided bombs on industrial facilities in Donetsk region.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Coal industry enterprises that ensured the operation of the local energy infrastructure were hit.

The Russian attacks damaged the boiler house, administrative and warehouse premises.

According to preliminary information, there are no deaths or injuries, but the enterprises have temporarily suspended work due to the destruction.

The destruction of coal enterprises may affect the stability of the Donetsk region’s energy sector.

The government emphasizes that experts are already assessing the extent of the damage and preparing to restore the damaged facilities.

“Russian terror does not stop. We are negotiating with partners to strengthen air defense and equipment for the rapid restoration of energy infrastructure,” said Deputy Energy Minister Svitlana Grinchuk. Recently, Russia has intensified strikes on energy and industrial facilities in eastern Ukraine, trying to disrupt critical infrastructure and create additional strain on the country’s energy system.
