Russians strike Kherson CHPP again, worker killed

Russians strike Kherson CHPP of Naftogaz Group again with artillery. Olga Basenko, a chemical workshop worker, was killed during the shelling.

Naftogaz of Ukraine’s statement expresses sincere condolences to Olga’s family and friends and notes that Russian shelling of Kherson CHPP has become systematic. “They have no military meaning. This is terror,” the statement emphasizes.

The relevant services and our specialists are currently working on site, as far as the security situation allows.

Naftogaz of Ukraine reported on March 11 that Russians have been attacking oil transportation infrastructure in southern Ukraine for two days in a row.

At the beginning of 2026, Serhiy Koretsky noted that due to constant shelling, Kherson CHPP can no longer operate in its usual mode. Oleksandr Tolokonnikov reported that it is currently impossible to restore the stable operation of the Kherson Thermal Power Plant, as daily shelling by the Russian army constantly damages the already repaired equipment.
