“Shahed” flew straight into the room: residents of the Starokostyantynivska community talk about the Russian attack

The Starokostyantynivska community in the Khmelnytskyi region is continuing to eliminate the consequences of another Russian attack by kamikaze drones. According to preliminary data, at least 37 residential buildings and three industrial enterprises were damaged.

Among the victims is the Yurchuk family. One of the drones hit a room in their house. At the time of the explosion, the owners were in the basement and remained unharmed.

We have to completely dismantle the house… build everything anew,” says Yuriy Yurchuk.

His neighbor Halyna Melnychuk, who came to help pull things out of the rubble, recalls: “It was very scary. It’s good that there were survivors — that’s the main thing.”

This is not the first time that the house of local resident Mykola Romanenko has been damaged: “This is the second time. All the windows are broken, everything in the house is damaged. We will repair again.”

As reported by Oleg Borykin, advisor to the chairman of Starokostyantynov, the Russians attacked the community on the night of May 26. The strike was carried out by more than a hundred drones.

Our communal services are working without interruption. We have sufficient material reserves to provide assistance to people. There is a commission for inspection and compensation, we help residents apply for e-Restoration,” the official said.
