The Russian army continues to systematically attack the civilian infrastructure of front-line Kherson, terrorizing the city’s civilian population.
On January 24, 2026, the Russians carried out another shelling of Kherson. The city center (Korabelny district) came under fire. The Russians covered the private sector with artillery, as a result of which residential buildings were damaged – windows were broken, roofs and facades were damaged.
A particularly dangerous consequence of the attack was an artillery shell that got stuck in the city center and, according to preliminary data, did not detonate. This creates an additional threat to residents and requires the work of explosives technicians.
Local authorities have recorded the scale of destruction in the old part of Kherson. Russian troops are purposefully destroying residential buildings, regardless of the presence of the civilian population.
