On the afternoon of May 25, the occupiers hit the construction hypermarket “Epicentr” in the residential area of Kharkiv. According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the Russians used two guided aerial bombs.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that more than 200 people could be in the hypermarket.
Epicenter claims that company personnel did everything possible to evacuate visitors and employees as quickly as possible, but the strikes occurred within minutes of receiving a distress signal.
As of May 27, 18 people are known to have died. Of them, 13 were identified. There are also 5 missing persons reports. It is known that 48 people were injured.
The number of victims may still rise. Law enforcement officers do not stop their search, as there may still be bodies in the hypermarket. Investigators established that at least 20 people were in the epicenter of the explosion during the attack on the hypermarket.
