On January 4, the enemy shelled the village of Zolochiv, Kharkiv region, as a result of which private houses were damaged: shrapnel cut windows, doors, and the roof. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
Viktor Kovalenko, the head of the Zolochiv settlement military administration, told about it.
– Yesterday, January 4, around 10:30 p.m., the enemy shelled the village of Zolochiv with the MLRS «Uragan». Three houses were damaged: windows, doors, and the roof were cut by shrapnel.
The most important thing is that there were no victims. This was the first shelling of the village in the last month, when there were direct hits, Viktor Kovalenko said. – Almost every day, the border settlements suffer from shelling by the occupiers. These are the Odnorobivskyi, Oleksandrivskyi, Udyanskyi and Odnorobivskyi First Starostyn districts.
Despite the constant blows from the occupiers, the Zolochiv community continues to recover. Yes, the village of Makarove was restored yesterday, there is also water and gas.
– Now it’s time for us to restore energy supply in the villages of Duvanky, Tsylyuriki, Sotnytskyi Kozachok, Guryiv Kozachok and Basove. It is difficult to say when the light will appear there, energy experts do not give forecasts, they do everything they can. However, no one forgets about people. We have provided the residents of these settlements with stoves and firewood, no one will freeze. And we evacuated some residents who are unable to take care of themselves or cannot stay there in the winter, – said the head of the community.
Currently, about 22,000 people live in the Zolochiv community, of which 3,500-4,000 have returned home in the past few months. Viktor Kovalenko says that after yesterday’s shelling people were scared, they are again thinking about leaving.
