As a result of the massive Russian attack on the Dniprо on the night of March 27, the palace of Russian Prince Grigory Potemkin was destroyed.
This was reported by Chairman Boris Filatov.
“We will, of course, restore the palace, especially since it is now the Palace of Students and Youth. But we will rename it in honor of Hetman Sahaidachny,” Filatov wrote.
The building was built at the end of the 18th century in the classical style. It was planned that it would be the residence of Prince Potemkin himself, but the building was abandoned almost immediately after construction was completed.
Currently, this building houses the Yuri Gagarin Palace of Students of the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University.
On the night of March 27, Russian troops attacked the Dnieper with drones, causing several fires at once.
In the city, enterprises, educational and cultural institutions, as well as more than 10 high-rise buildings and more than 60 cars and 2 trucks were damaged.
The attack caused several fires, which had already been extinguished by morning. Three people were also injured – a 48-year-old man and two women aged 75 and 78. They were all provided with assistance on the spot.
