In the Ternopil region, as a result of a fire at an industrial facility, an excess of chlorine was recorded. This was reported by the Director General of the Ternopil Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Oksana Chaychuk.
According to her, with a norm of 0.1 milligrams per cubic meter, an excess of chlorine content is from 0.4 to 1.01 milligrams per cubic meter. That is, from four to 10 times in atmospheric air.
Residents of Ternopil region are advised to limit prolonged exposure to fresh air, hang doors and windows with wet sheets, and use recuperators if possible. In addition, local residents are urged to refrain from swimming in reservoirs and staying near water bodies.
It is noted that due to the incident, commissions on technogenic and environmental safety and emergency situations are urgently convened.
The Ternopil Regional Military Administration reported that a fire broke out in Ternopil during an air raid on the night of August 20.
Viktor Ustenko, the deputy head of the Ternopil regional military administration, noted that the Russians hit an industrial facility, causing a fuel tank to ignite.
