Simulated execution: Pskov paratroopers tortured Ukrainian prisoners of war

The Russians released a video showing Ukrainian soldiers being tortured in a destroyed gym in Donetsk region. The fighters were blindfolded and shot into the air.

Russian Russians staged a show execution of captured Ukrainian defenders. Julian Röpke, an analyst of the German publication BILD, writes about it.

He recalls how, within a week after the capture of Avdiyivka, the Russian Armed Forces committed a series of war crimes that were caught on video — they shot Defense Forces fighters near Bakhmut and near Robotyny.

“In both cases, the crimes were committed by airborne troops,” Röpke writes.

So, the other day, the Russians released a video of how prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are being tortured in a destroyed gymnasium in Donetsk region, simulating an execution. Ukrainians were tied and blindfolded and shot into the air.

Paratroopers of the 76th Guards Airborne Assault Division, known as the “Pskov Division”, were involved in this crime. It is believed that she took part in the massacre in Bucha. In the video, a colonel with the call sign “Executioner” administers the imaginary punishment.

Head of the Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office for Combating Crimes Committed in the Conditions of Armed Conflict, Yuriy Belousov, explained why the number of shootings of prisoners of war in the Russian Armed Forces has increased. The growing number of executions of Ukrainian defenders indicates that this is clearly a policy supported by the top leadership of the Russian Armed Forces.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine is investigating 18 criminal proceedings for the murder of 38 Ukrainian prisoners of war by the Russian military.
