Since the beginning of 2024, 226 dolphins washed ashore in the occupied Crimea

Since the beginning of 2024, 226 releases of dolphins have been registered as a result of the activity of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. This is reported by the Representation of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Since the beginning of 2024, 226 dolphins have washed ashore in Crimea as a result of the activity of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation near the coast of the occupied peninsula, the report says.

It should be noted that earlier Russian activists reported that nine individuals were washed ashore alive on the coast of Crimea. Activists noted that the largest number of Azovs died – 66%. Also bottlenose dolphins – 7%, white-bellied – 16%, individuals of an unspecified species – 11%.

According to the Russians, the largest number of animals were found in Sevastopol district (40%), Saka district and Yevpatoria (16%) and Feodosia district (11%).
