Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has attacked Ukrainian thermal power plants almost 180 times. This was announced on April 28 by the executive director of the DTEK group, Dmytro Sakharuk.
“If you count from the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russians have already fired at our thermal power plants almost 180 times. This attack, on April 27, was, in fact, the fourth major after the attacks on March 22 and 29 and April 11,” Saharuk said.
According to him, the consequences of the latest attack by the invaders are now being analyzed. Four DTEK stations were seriously damaged.
On the night of April 27, the Russian Federation carried out a massive air attack on Ukraine. The Russians raised strategic aircraft into the air, used “Daggers” and cruise missiles.
According to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko, the Russians attacked energy facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions.
According to him, equipment was damaged as a result of shelling. The consequences of the attacks are being clarified. Work on their elimination is ongoing.
In addition, a shift supervisor was injured at one of the facilities. The energy worker suffered a concussion.
The DTEK group reported that the Russians attacked four of its thermal power plants at night with Kh-101, Daggers and Caliber cruise missiles. The Russians also used Kh-59 guided air missiles and S-300 missiles.
In recent weeks, the Russians have been massively attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure with kamikaze drones and missiles. As a result of the strikes, electricity blackout schedules were introduced in various regions of Ukraine, in particular in the Kharkiv and Odesa regions.
On the night of March 22, the Russian Federation carried out more than 15 airstrikes on Ukrainian energy facilities. The Ministry of Energy reported that the damage from this attack could amount to billions of hryvnias.
During the massive attack on Ukraine on the night of March 29, the Russians struck the energy infrastructure in the center and west of the country.
On the night of April 11, the Russians struck energy facilities in Kharkiv, Lviv, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Centernergo informed that the Russians completely destroyed the most powerful Trypil TPP in the Kyiv region, located in the urban-type village of Ukraintsi.
