Since the beginning of the great war, the Russians have destroyed almost 2,700 hectares of forests in Donetsk region

Since the beginning of 2024, there have been 143 fires in natural ecosystems in the Donetsk region, of which 93 are related to hostilities.

This was reported in the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of the Donetsk region.

From the total number of fires in natural ecosystems since the beginning of 2024, there have been 104 fires in forest areas, as a result of which forest areas on an area of ​​2634.47 hectares were destroyed, and 3 fires on agricultural lands, as a result of which 87 hectares of wheat were destroyed.

It is noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine in the Donetsk region, 2,682.65 hectares of forest areas, 4,531.35 hectares of root crops and 349 hectares of stubble have been destroyed.

From the beginning of 2024 to June 27, a survey (demining) of agricultural territories with a total area of ​​449.27 hectares was carried out using pyrotechnic calculations of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

However, the service noted that due to active hostilities on the territory of Donetsk region, the territory that has been inspected (demined) for the presence of explosive objects is considered safe only for the period of its inspection (demining).
