Since the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has registered the deaths of 551 children from the actions of the Russians, ten of whom died in Odesa.
This was reported in the press service of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa Regional State Administration.
Another 1,368 children were injured, and almost 20,000 were forcibly deported to the Russian Federation.
In particular, in the Odesa region, the following people died from Russian strikes: Kira (3 months old), Dmytro (11 years old), Vyacheslav (14 years old), Denis (15 years old), Zlata (8 years old), Sergey (9 years old), Liza (7 months), Timofey (4 months), Mark (3 years), Milana (7 years), Zlata (4 years).
The memory of the children in Odesa was honored by planting cherry blossoms near the building of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
On May 26, a farewell ceremony for 4-year-old Zlata, who was injured during a missile attack on the coast on April 29, was held in Odesa in the Transfiguration Cathedral. Doctors fought for the child’s life for almost a month.
On April 29, during a rocket attack on Odesa, the Russians killed seven people and injured 30 townspeople, including one child and a pregnant woman.
However, in terms of the number of civilian casualties, the attack on March 2, which claimed the lives of 12 civilians, five of whom were children, was the most massive for Odesa since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
The scale of the destruction of a residential building due to the impact of a drone gave reason to believe that this is probably the first case of the use of an impact drone with an enhanced warhead or a thermobaric charge.
One of the drones hit a 9-story residential building in the Peresypsky district of the city, part of the entrance of 18 apartments was completely destroyed, and another 36 apartments were damaged. The rescue operation to find people who were under the rubble lasted almost two days. In total, 20 civilians were injured in the attack, including one pregnant woman.
