Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, more than 62,000 war crimes have been recorded

The Prosecutor General’s Office has documented more than 62,000 war crimes against Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

As of January 1, 2023, the following are documented:

  • 62,041 war crimes,
  • 17,320 crimes against the national security of Ukraine.
Yesterday, 2 people died and 50 were injured in Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks

On the last day of 2022, two civilians were killed and 50 were injured in Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks.

This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko.

“Victims among the civilian population as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation for 12.31.2022 (as of 09:00 on 01.01.2023):

Dnipropetrovsk region – 1 wounded

Donetsk region – 1 wounded

Zaporizhzhia region – 5 wounded

Mykolayiv region – 6 wounded

Kharkiv region – 1 wounded

Kherson region – 1 dead, 4 wounded

Khmelnytskyi region – 10 wounded

Kyiv city – 1 dead, 22 wounded”, Kyrylo Tymoshenko provided such data with reference to the information of the military administrations.

On December 31, Russians shelled Donetsk region 18 times, hit critical infrastructure and houses, – National Police

On December 31, Russians shelled residential areas of 11 settlements in the Donetsk region 18 times.

This is reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

“The invaders covered 11 settlements with fire – the cities of Avdeevka, Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, Kurakhovo, Nikolaevka, Toretsk, Bolshaya Novoselka, Alekseevo-Druzhkovka, the villages of Veseloye, Markovo, Predtechino. The Russian army hit with rockets, MLRS “Grad”, artillery.

26 civilian facilities were destroyed and damaged – 19 residential buildings, a school, a factory, a transformer, a granary, etc.,” the report says.

The occupiers delivered two missile strikes from the S-300 air defense system on Nikolaevka. An educational institution and two high-rise buildings were destroyed.

Another rocket hit Alekseevo-Druzhkovka, where 5 private houses were damaged. Also, as a result of a missile attack, there is damage in the industrial zone of Kramatorsk.

The police and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

In Donetsk region, a 13-year-old girl was injured as a result of shelling by Russian troops

Children were the most affected by Russian shelling in the Donetsk region – 429.

This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“As of the morning of January 1, 2023, more than 1,328 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 452 children died and more than 876 were injured of varying degrees of severity,” the message reads.

These data are not final, work is ongoing to establish them in places of active hostilities, in temporarily captured and liberated territories.

In particular, it is reported that the most affected children were in Donetsk region – 429, Kharkiv region – 268, Kyiv region – 117, Mykolaiv region – 81, Zaporizhzhia region – 81, Kherson region – 81, Chernihiv region – 68, Luhansk region – 65, Dnipropetrovsk region – 40.

During the recording of the crimes of the Russian invaders in the Kherson region, the death of two boys aged 13 and 17 was established.

On December 31, a 14-year-old girl was injured as a result of an enemy rocket attack on Zaporizhzhia.

Also, on December 31, two children, aged 12 and 13, were injured due to shelling of Kherson.

3,126 educational institutions were damaged due to bombing and shelling by the armed forces of Russia. 337 of them were completely destroyed.
