The press service of the Office of the Ombudsman published alarming statistics: 560 children have disappeared without a trace since the beginning of the military conflict in Ukraine. These data were made public on the state portal for tracing children “Children of War”. In the period until June 21, 2023, along with the missing, 13,869 children were found and returned home.
“As of June 21, 2023, 560 children are considered missing in Ukraine, and 13,869 children are found,” the Office of the Ombudsman reported.
Experts emphasize the need to strengthen efforts by domestic and international organizations to address the problems of children’s disappearance, which is a direct consequence of the war. The situation with missing children requires an immediate response and specific actions aimed at finding them and returning them home.
