Situation update as of 6 a.m., May 14, 2023

Last night, russian terrorists launched yet another missile attack on Ukraine. Information on the aftermath of this terrorist attack is currently being updated.

During the day of May 13, russian federation launched yet another massive strike on Ukraine, employing Iranian Shahed-136/131 combat UAVs.

According to updated information, 18x out of 23x UAVs were intercepted by Ukrainian defenders. In the aftermath of the hits, about 50x high-rise buildings, private houses, cultural, and medical institutions were damaged by blast waves.

More than 30x civilians were wounded.

During the day of May 13, the enemy launched a total of 4x missile attacks. The targets included the cities of Ternopil and Mykolaiv and caused civilian casualties, damage to a multi-storey building and other civilian infrastructure.  In addition, the enemy launched 79x air strikes and 99x MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. In particular, shelling of Kostyantynivka (Donetsk oblast) killed and wounded civilians, including children. 1x private house was destroyed, 4x multi-storey buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

The adversary continues to focus its main efforts on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mar’inka axes. These areas of the frontline saw a total of 57x combat engagements during the day of May 13, with Bakhmut and Mar’inka remaining at the epicenter of the fighting.

Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary launched air strikes near the settlements of Prohres, Mkhy, Semenivka, Novhorod-Sivers’kyi (Chernihiv oblast), and Budarky (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired mortars and artillery at the settlements of Klyusy, Yeline, Zarichchya, Mkhy, Medvedivka, Yanzhulivka, Hrem’yach (Chernihiv oblast), Stara Huta, Dem’yanivka, Bachivs’k, Vil’na Sloboda, Bobylivka, Volfyne, Stepok, Ryasne, Popivka (Sumy oblast), Udy, Kozacha Lopan’, Starytsya, Ohirtseve, Khatnje, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Bochkove, Nesterne, and Budarky (Kharkiv oblast).

Kup’yans’k axis: the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives near Masyutivka, Novoselivs’ke, and the eastern outskirts of Stel’makhivka. The invaders launched air strikes at the vicinities of settlements of Vil’shana and Kotlyarivka. Novomlyns’k, Dvorichna, Tabaivka, Nikopol’ (Kharkiv oblast), and Stel’makhivka (Luhansk oblast) came under artillery and mortar fire.

Lyman axis: the enemy did not conduct any offensive operations during the day of May 13. The invaders launched air strikes at the vicinities of settlements of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Verkhn’okam’yans’ke, and Spirne (Donetsk oblast). Makiivka (Luhansk oblast), Bilohorivka, Verkhn’okam’yans’ke, and Berestove (Donetsk oblast) were shelled with artillery.

Bakhmut axis: the enemy continues its offensive operations. Heavy battles for the city of Bakhmut continue. In addition, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions towards the settlements of Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Khromove, Bakhmut, and Bila Hora during the day of May 13. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Vasyutyns’ke, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Kurdyumivka, and Pivnichne. Vasyukivka, Fedorivka Druha, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, Druzhba, Pivnichne, Pivdenne, and Toretsk (Donetsk oblast) suffered from enemy shelling.

Avdiivka axis: the adversary launched an air strike at the vicinity of Avdiivka, shelled Pervomayske and Karlivka (Donetsk oblast).

Mar’inka axis: Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks in the vicinity of the city of Mar’inka. At the same time, the settlements of Heorhiivka and Pobjeda (Donetsk oblast) were shelled by the enemy.

Shakhtars’ke axis: the enemy did not conduct any offensive operations during the day of May 13. The occupant forces launched an air strike near Prechystivka. The invaders shelled the settlements of Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, and Shakhtars’ke.

Zaporizhzhia and Kherson axes: the occupiers stay on the defensive. The enemy launched air strikes at the vicinities of settlements of Vremivka (Donetsk oblast), Burlats’ke, Malynivka, Zatyshshya, Hulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Mali Shcherbaky (Zaporizhzhya oblast), Beryslav, and Kozats’ke (Kherson oblast).

Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Bilohir’ya, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Novopavlivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Kam’yans’ke (Zaporizhzhia oblast), Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Dmytrivka, Antonivka, Chornobaivka (Kherson oblast), and the city of Kherson were shelled.

The enemy continues to try to replenish its casualties with convicts from russia. Recently, about 200x such persons have been reported to arrive at one of the enemy’s field camps in the temporarily occupied Rohove (Luhansk oblast). They are to undergo a 4-week general military training course. Up to 250x more convicts are expected to arrive by the end of the month.

Also, in the area of Mozhnyakivka (Luhansk oblast), the occupiers organized training for up to 800x newly arrived russian prisoners.

At the same time, in the vicinity of Novopetrivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast), about 400x russian prisoners recruited by PMC Wagner have recently arrived at the training ground for military training.  The training is planned for several weeks. In the near future, another 400x mercenaries (russian prisoners) are expected to arrive for military training.

During the day of May 13, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 10x air strikes on the concentrations of troops and military equipment of the adversary, and 4x air strikes on the enemy of anti-aircraft missile systems. The Ukrainian defenders also shot down 3x Orlan-10 reconnaissance UAVs of the enemy, intercepted 2x Zala reconnaissance drones, 4x Lancet loitering munitions, and 5x more of an unspecified type.

The Ukrainian missile and artillery troops hit 4x concentrations of enemy troops, 1x MLRS at its firing position, 2x air defense assets, 2x ammunition depots, and 2x electronic warfare stations of the adversary.
