According to updated information, the enemy launched 31x missile strikes during the day of May 16, including 2x S-300 missiles at the civilian infrastructure of Kostyantynivka (Donetsk oblast), and 2x Kalibr missiles at the civilian infrastructure of Mykolaiv. In addition, the russian occupiers launched 57x air strikes and 96x MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. The enemy missile strikes employed 6x Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles, 13x 3M-54 Kalibr cruise missiles (2x missiles exploded in mid-air), and 10 ground-launched missiles (S-400, Iskander-M). 25x of them were intercepted by Ukrainian defenders.
Civilian infrastructure was damaged. In particular, russian shelling of Dvorichna, Vovchans’k, and Tyshchenkivka (Kharkiv oblast) killed and wounded civilians, destroyed private houses, a hospital, and other civilian infrastructure.

The invaders launched air strikes at the vicinities of settlements of Budarky, Vil’shana, Kyslivka, Kotlyarivka, and Tabaivka (Kharkiv oblast). The occupant forces fired artillery and mortars at Dvorichans’ke, Kam’yanka, Krasne Pershe, Fyholivka, Novomlyns’k, Dvorichna, Masyutivka, Kindrashivka, Kup’yans’k, Kyslivka, Tabaivka, Berestove (Kharkiv oblast), and Stel’makhivka (Luhansk oblast).
Lyman axis: during the day of May 16, the enemy conducted offensives in the vicinity of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast). The invaders launched air strikes near Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Spirne, Sivers’k, and Chervone (Donetsk oblast). Makiivka, Nevs’ke, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Verkhn’okam’yans’ke, Tors’ke, and Spirne (Donetsk oblast) were shelled with artillery.
Bakhmut axis: the enemy continues its offensive operations. Heavy fighting for Bakhmut continues. The adversary also conducted unsuccessful offensives towards Ivanivske. The invaders launched air strikes at the vicinities of Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, and Toretsk. Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Pivnichne, and Toretsk (Donetsk oblast) suffered from enemy shelling.
Avdiivka axis: the adversary continues to destroy civilian infrastructure of various settlements. The invaders launched air strikes on Avdiivka and Vodyane, shelled Novokalynove, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Pervomais’ke, Nevel’s’ke, and Karlivka (Donetsk oblast).
Mar’inka axis: Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks in the vicinity of the city of Mar’inka. The occupiers launched an air strike in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka. At the same time, Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Mar’inka, and Pobjeda (Donetsk oblast) were shelled by the enemy.
Shakhtars’ke axis: the enemy launched air strikes at the vicinities of Vuhledar and Velyka Novosilka during the day of May 16. The invaders’ artillery targets included Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Novoukrainka (Donetsk oblast).
Zaporizhzhia and Kherson axes: the adversary stays on the defensive. The occupiers launched air strikes on the settlements of Vremivka (Donetsk oblast), Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast), Beryslav, and Kizomys (Kherson oblast). In the meantime, the invaders shelled the settlements of Ol’hivs’ke, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Bilohir’ya, Shcherbaky, Stepove, Kam’yans’ke (Zaporizhzhia oblast), Tokarivka, Molodizhne, and Kizomys (Kherson oblast), and the city of Kherson.
The adversary continues to cynically use pre-schools in the temporarily occupied settlements for its own purposes. For example, the russian occupiers use the building of a local kindergarten in the village of Yur’ivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast), to accommodate their troops. At the same time, the kindergarten is home to civilians who were evacuated from settlements close to the line of contact.
During the day of May 16, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 14x air strikes on the concentrations of troops and military equipment, as well as 4x air strikes on the anti-aircraft missile systems of the adversary.
