Situation update as of 6 a.m., May 30, 2023

Last night, the enemy attacked Ukraine again, employing Iranian Shahed combat UAVs. Information on the aftermath of this attack is currently being updated.

During the day of May 29, the russian federation launched 2x massive missile and air strikes on the territory of Ukraine. Last night, the enemy used Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles and Iranian Shahed-136/131 combat UAVs. The forces and means of the air corps, in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, destroyed 36x out of 40x Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 30x out of 38x Shahed combat UAVs. During the daytime of May 29, the adversary employed Iskander short-range cruise and ballistic missiles against civilian and critical infrastructure in Kyiv. The Ukrainian Air Force intercepted 11x out of 11x missiles.

During the day of May 29, the adversary launched a total of 62x air strikes and 54x MLRS attacks. Unfortunately, the attacks have caused civilian casualties, damaged private residential buildings other infrastructure.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on attempts to fully occupy Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts. During the day of May 29, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 27x enemy attacks.

Volyn and Polissya axes: no changes or signs of the formation of offensive groups were found.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary continues to maintain military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. During the day of May 29, an air strike was conducted near Milove (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired mortars and artillery at the settlements of Seredyna-Buda, Pavlivka, Katerynivka, Shevchenkove, Velyka Pysarivka (Sumy oblast), Udy, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Morokhovets’, Ternova, Izbyts’ke, Starytsya, Hatyshche, Vovchans’k, Pletenivka, Tykhe, Vovchans’ki Khutory, Mala Vovcha, Varvarivka, Budarky, Zemlyanky, Chuhunivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Kup’yans’k axis: the adversary conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of Masyutivka, Krokhmal’ne (Kharkiv oblast), Novoselivs’ke, and Stel’makhivka (Luhansk oblast) during the day of May 29. Russian forces launched an air strike in the vicinity of Stel’makhivka. The adversary fired artillery and mortars at Kolodyazne, Kam’yanka, Krasne Pershe, Novomlyns’k, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masyutivka, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Kyslivka, Hlushkivka, Berestove, and Bohuslavka (Kharkiv oblast).

Lyman axis: the adversary did not conduct any offensive operations during the day of May 29. The invaders launched a missile attack in the vicinity of Liman and air strikes in the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Sivers’k, and Spirne (Donetsk oblast). Nevs’ke, Dibrova, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), and Spirne (Donetsk oblast) were shelled with artillery.

Bakhmut axis: the adversary did not conduct any offensive operations during the day of May 29. Russian forces launched an air strike in the vicinity of Toretsk (Donetsk oblast). Vasyukivka, Kramatorsk, Tykhonivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, Zalizne, and New York (Donetsk oblast) suffered from enemy shelling.

Avdiivka axis: the adversary did not conduct any offensive operations.

The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Avdiivka and Vodyane. The invaders fired artillery at the settlements of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Pervomais’ke, and Karlivka (Donetsk oblast).

Mar’inka axis: Ukrainian defenders repelled 12x enemy attacks in the vicinity of the city of Mar’inka. The enemy launched an air strike in the vicinity of Heorhiivka. At the same time, Mar’inka and Heorhiivka (Donetsk oblast) were shelled by the enemy.

Shakhtars’ke axis: the enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Vuhledar and Prechystivka. The invaders shelled the settlements of Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, and Shakhtars’ke.

Zaporizhzhia and Kherson axes: the adversary stays on the defensive. The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Hulyaipole and Mala Tokmachka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The enemy shelled the settlements of Vremivka, Zelene Pole, Novopil’ (Donetsk oblast), Ol’hivs’ke, Hulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Stepnohirs’k (Zaporizhzhia oblast), Kachkarivka, Mylove, Kozats’ke, Burhunka, L’vove, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Komyshany, Dniprovs’ke, Kizomys (Kherson oblast), and the city of Kherson.

The enemy has intensified counterintelligence measures in the temporarily occupied Skadovs’kyi district (Kherson oblast). The occupiers are conducting mass raids on the houses and apartments of local civilians. They check personal IDs and mobile devices. By doing so, the occupiers attempt to intimidate the locals and identify those who are helping the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

During the day of May 29, Ukrainian Air Force launched 15x air strikes on the concentrations of enemy troops and military equipment. Also, the Ukrainian defenders intercepted 4x enemy reconnaissance UAVs of various types during the day of May 29.

The Ukrainian missile and artillery troops hit 3x concentrations of weapons and military equipment, 1x ammunition depot, 3x air defense facilities, and 3x other important targets of the adversary.
