The head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported how many electricians have died and been injured since the deoccupation of the right bank.
According to the official, 80% of villages on the right bank of the Kherson region already have access to electricity, but repair work continues in extremely difficult conditions due to constant attacks by the Russian occupiers.
Prokudin noted that repairmen risk their lives every day, as they become targets for Russian drones and artillery. Since the deoccupation of the right bank of the Kherson region, six workers have died and nine more have been injured.
The Russians continue to target energy infrastructure, leaving the population without electricity, gas, water and heat. Despite this, specialists continue to restore damaged networks, although each trip becomes a dangerous task for them.
Intent has already reported that during the repair of the power grid in the village of Solontsy, in the Kherson region, three workers were blown up by a mine. One worker died on the spot, one was left without lower limbs and was in very serious condition, and one survived.
In addition, in Kherson, heating network workers work in extremely difficult conditions and are forced to perform double the amount of work due to a 40 percent understaffing. This is due to both the security situation in the region and the consequences of active hostilities. It is especially difficult for heat power workers to work. In the previous heating season, boiler houses often stopped due to shelling, leaving residents without heat.
On January 6, Russian troops killed the only ecologist who physically worked in the Kherson community. Volodymyr Ivanovich Shum died as a result of a Russian drone attack on a minibus in Kherson. He took care of trees the most. In a few days, he was supposed to celebrate his 51st birthday.
