Some of those killed during the occupation of Izyum have still not been identified

The bodies of 22 people who were exhumed from a mass grave after the liberation of the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region from Russian occupiers still remain unidentified. In the fall of 2022, more than 450 bodies were exhumed in a forest near the city.

This was reported by the press service of the Izyum community.

As noted in the report, the unidentified bodies were previously recorded as “unknown woman” or “unknown man”. It is noted that even today, more than two years after the exhumation, there is no information about their relatives or acquaintances who could help complete the identification process.

“Because of this, it is not yet possible to complete the forensic medical examinations of these individuals,” the report says.
