The Russians committed another act of war crime by launching an artillery strike on Konstantinovka. As a result of the shelling, one resident of the city died, seven more were injured. Earlier, two victims were reported. This information was published by the Prosecutor General’s Office on January 22. An investigation into the crimes of the Russian troops has been launched. According to investigators, two civilians received mine and explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds while in their homes. One of them was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Later, the Russian army repeated the attack. Within 15 minutes, the city was subjected to nine air strikes. According to preliminary information, the Russians used 250-kilogram high-explosive air bombs.
“A 58-year-old citizen died as a result of the shelling. 5 residents also received bodily injuries. They were diagnosed with mine-explosive and closed craniocerebral trauma, concussion, injuries to the torso and limbs,” the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reported.
The shelling caused significant damage to the city: facades of residential high-rise buildings and private houses, garages, utility buildings, cars, administrative buildings, as well as power lines and a gas pipeline were damaged.
The prosecutor’s office has launched a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes (Parts 1, 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
