Strike on Kyiv: The death toll has increased significantly

The death toll from the massive Russian shelling of Kyiv has increased to 12 people. This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

“The death toll from the Russian strike on Kyiv has increased to 12 people, including 2 children,” the report says.

At the same time, search and rescue operations at the site of the collapse of a building in the Darnytskyi district, where a Russian missile hit, are ongoing.

Psychologists and 3 dog teams of the State Emergency Service are working at the site. In total, there are 170 rescuers and 51 pieces of equipment.

As chairman Vitaliy Klitschko specified, a 15-year-old girl is also among the dead. In addition, 57 people were injured. Currently, 27 of them are in hospitals in the capital.

In Kyiv, the entrance to a high-rise building in the Darnytskyi district was destroyed as a result of the Russian attack. It was reported that a 12-year-old girl was among the dead.

The Russians were also particularly cynical in carrying out repeated ballistic strikes in the same places a few hours later. The Russians tried to kill rescuers working on the ground.

During the attack on the business center in the Obolonkyi district of Kyiv, the Russians used the insidious tactic of repeating the strike after some time. This is exactly how they had already acted during one of the previous attacks on the capital, on April 16, 2026: then the occupation army managed to catch the Kyiv emergency services by surprise, in particular, the patrol police crew and the ambulance. This time everyone managed to take cover, however, the business center and even the new overpass on Novokostyantynivska Street at the junction of Obolonkyi and Podilskyi districts were hit.
