Strike on Shostka enterprise: environmental damage – over 22 million UAH

The State Ecological Inspectorate in Sumy region assessed the environmental damage due to another fact of Russian strikes on civilian objects in Sumy region.

On February 8, 2025, one of the industrial enterprises of the city of Shostka was damaged as a result of cynical shelling. During the inspection of the territory, environmental inspectors recorded the contamination of 1238 sq. m of land. The total volume of waste generated is 932 cubic meters. According to the calculation, the environmental damage from the contamination amounted to 22 million 476 thousand 827 UAH.

In general, as of February 19, the amount of damage calculated by the Inspectorate for the contamination of land resources in Sumy region with demolition waste is already 2 billion 094 million 571 thousand 960 UAH.

All The documents have been sent to law enforcement agencies for further consideration and inclusion in the criminal case. Information about the damage caused has also been entered into the general register of environmental damage caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
