In the Sumy region on August 24-25, one person was killed and nine others were injured from strikes by Russian troops, during which the Russian Federation sent two drones, including one to Sumy, in the morning, the head of the Sumy regional military administration, Oleg Grigorov, and the head of the Sumy city military administration, Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, reported on Monday.

In the past 24 hours in the Sumy region, one person was killed and nine others were injured from Russian strikes, Grigorov wrote.

According to the head of the regional military administration, on the night of August 25, a person was killed and two others were injured as a result of a drone attack on a civilian car in the Novoslobodsk community. They are being provided with assistance and evacuated to a safe place.

According to the investigation of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the Russians attacked a private car with a drone that was moving through the territory of the village of Nova Sloboda, Konotop District, on August 25, 2025 at about 05:00. “The 37-year-old driver was killed, and the passengers – a 56-year-old woman and her 62-year-old husband – were also injured,” the prosecutor’s office said.

As Grigorov reported, the Russians also hit the residential sector of the Sumy community with drones. Dozens of private houses and an apartment building, as well as other civilian infrastructure, were damaged.

“Seven more victims are residents of the Sumy community: five from the Pishchansky district and two residents of the regional center. Most received assistance on the spot, three are in the hospital. Their condition is not serious, doctors are conducting an examination and providing the necessary assistance,” Grigorov said.

The head of the Sumy city military administration, Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, clarified that “in the morning, the Russians attacked Sumy with two UAVs.” “One of the hits was on a residential building. The windows were broken. Two people asked for help – they received shrapnel wounds. The injured were provided with medical assistance on the spot, then they were hospitalized for further examination. Another hit was on a gas station. The fire was extinguished. No injuries,” Kryvosheyenko reported.
