
On June 4, Sumy held an event to commemorate the day of commemoration of children killed in Russian armed aggression. Bells were hung on Teatralna Square, each of which symbolizes the voice of a murdered child. The event was organized by the Rokada Foundation and the Sumy Office of the Human Rights Commissioner.
According to the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office, since the beginning of the full-scale war, 29 children have died as a result of hostilities in the Sumy region, the youngest of whom was not even two years old. The city council clarified that 11 children were from the Sumy community. In total, 707 children have died in the war in Ukraine since February 24, 2022.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the Russians have killed 707 children, 29 of whom are from the Sumy region. Another 2,548 were wounded. Law enforcement officers are investigating about six thousand criminal cases of crimes against children and in the field of childhood protection, and 234 Russian servicemen and other persons involved have been charged with suspicion.
