Sumy region under attack: there are deaths and injuries as a result of Russian shelling

As of the morning of July 20, 2025, the security situation in Sumy region remains extremely tense. As a result of Russian shelling of the region, one civilian was killed, there are injuries, the regional military administration reported.

In the Sveska community, a woman born in 1947 died due to a drone attack. In the Shostka community, two civilians (born in 1968 and 1977) were injured as a result of air strikes with guided aerial bombs.

From the morning of July 19 to the morning of July 20, Russian troops carried out almost 70 attacks on 33 settlements in 13 territorial communities of Sumy region.

The largest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts. The Russians actively used: 10 drops of VOG from UAVs; almost 20 strikes with guided aerial bombs, the Russians also carried out strikes with FPV drones and other unmanned aircraft on the territory of Sumy region.

Damage and destruction of civilian infrastructure: in Seredino-Budska community, a civilian infrastructure facility was destroyed, in Druzhbivska community, an outbuilding and a private house were damaged, and residential buildings were destroyed in Sveska community.

On July 19, the air alert in the region lasted 13 hours and 58 minutes.
