Szijjarto openly supported the illegal smuggling of Ukrainians across the border

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjarto supports the illegal smuggling of Ukrainian men across the border, as he believes that mobilization in Ukraine prevents the end of the war unleashed by Russia.

In the context of these statements, Szijjarto mentioned the detention in Ukraine of a Hungarian man who tried to help five Ukrainian men escape to Hungary.

He said that the Hungarian consulate in Beregovo immediately provided the detainee with consular protection and is assisting him in the investigation.

“This case also clearly shows: the war must be ended as soon as possible, the forced conscription must be stopped immediately,” the Hungarian Foreign Minister is convinced.

In his post, he also mentioned many Ukrainian men who, according to him, are “desperately trying to escape from Ukraine to avoid conscription, and with it, sending to the front and likely death.”

At the same time, he indicated that the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service is “using all means” to detain violators.
