On June 2, Russia struck again in the Sumy region: three guided bombs hit the center of the village of Khotyn, Sumy district. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties among the local population, but the infrastructure of the village suffered serious damage.
The Assumption Church, built about twenty years ago and revered by local residents as a spiritual center of the community, was particularly affected. The shock wave damaged the walls of the sanctuary, broke out the windows, and significantly destroyed the roof and dome. The interior of the temple was also damaged, including icons, the altar, and church utensils.
A separate baptismal room located next to the temple was completely destroyed.
